Enactus Sheridan takes home leadership and innovation awards
Enactus Sheridan is a social entrepreneurship club that aims to provide a platform and space for students to build skills, create a positive impact in the community and the world and join a network that encourages them to reach their full potential.
Recently, during the 2022 Enactus Canada National Exposition, Charmila Chand, a graduate of the Honours Bachelor of Early Childhood Leadership, and a member of the Sheridan team was selected as one of five recipients of the HSBC Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Award. The award recognizes entrepreneurial students within the Enactus Canada network who demonstrate leadership; are dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of others; and act as inspiring and empowering role models to other entrepreneurs.
As part of the award, Chand will receive a $1,000 educational bursary. Enactus Sheridan has also been awarded a $2,500 project grant to be used towards creating an initiative that focuses on the advancement of women in our community.
In addition to that, during the 2022 Regional Exposition, Enactus Sheridan also won an Excellence in Innovation Award alongside several other incredible Enactus teams for competing in all three topics: TD Entrepreneurship, CWB Financial Education and Scotiabank Climate Action. Sheridan was also selected as one of the top six teams to move forward to the final round of the CWB Financial Education Pitch Competition.
Moving forward, Enactus Sheridan will continue its focus on making a positive difference through events and projects that tackle climate change, support financial literacy and empower social entrepreneurs. They are excited to see where their social entrepreneurship journey takes them next.
