Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition Facebook group lets past champions reconnect

The Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition is 40 years old. In celebration, alumni and coaches are sharing their best memories through a newly created Facebook Group.

The Facebook group was created by Minh Pham, Omar Alabdullah and Rifat Reza Chowdhury from the PSB Marketing Association. It’s a space for past and present Team Sheridan students and coaches to re-connect and re-live their greatest OCMC moments. Connections are forming with alumni from 2013 to present, but plans are underway to reach out to all teams from 2004 and up.

What is OCMC?

The Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition is a two-day competition to showcase the province’s top marketing students and future business leaders.  The event typically attracts over 250 participants competing in events that test their marketing expertise in a variety of categories: retailing, integrated marketing communications, sales presentations, international marketing, direct marketing, sales prospecting, entrepreneurship and market research. A highlight of the event is the Quiz-Bowl, a Jeopardy!-style quiz match that has teams of four challenging each other for the top spot.

Competitors rely on their analytical problem solving abilities, creativity and excellent presentation skills to impress industry judges as they race the clock to present innovative solutions to challenging marketing issues.

OCMC gives students the chance to take part in an incredible one-of-a-kind learning opportunity. Participants receive intensive training from their faculty coaches, gain invaluable insight from industry leaders and develop additional skills to pursue an innovative career. Students leave the experience feeling invigorated, and ready to achieve future academic and professional success.

The Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition is an ideal forum for organizations that want to support and connect with the best and brightest marketing students in Ontario and pursue recruitment opportunities with this next generation of business leaders.
