Jennifer Peterson named program coordinator for Business Accounting
By Karen Booth
I am pleased to share the news that Professor Jennifer Peterson will assume the role of coordinator for the Business Accounting diploma program, effective January 2021.
Jennifer joined the Pilon School of Business in 2017 and teaches a variety of courses, including Introductory Accounting, Taxation and Audit.
Jennifer has always enjoyed learning and taking on new challenges, which motivated her to pursue her academic career. She thoroughly enjoys mentoring and engaging students in their own learning journey.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree with majors in Accounting and Small Business/Entrepreneurship, as well as a Masters of Accounting and has her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
Jennifer spent more than 20 years in public-practice accounting. From the time she was an accounting student herself, Jennifer was interested in entrepreneurship and supporting individual business owners in pursuing their business ideas and goals. During this time, she was involved in a variety of roles that provided the opportunity to assist business owners and entrepreneurs with the accounting and financial needs of their companies.
Please join me in welcoming Jennifer to her new role as program coordinator.
Please also join me in thanking Professor Alison Feierabend who graciously assumed the role of program coordinator when Professor Sally Mitzel retired in the Fall of 2019. Alison provides tremendous support to students and her faculty colleagues, which includes her strong commitment towards supporting their transition to remote delivery this year.
Karen Booth, BBA, MBA, is an associate dean in the Pilon School of Business.
