Relaunched Advertising and Marketing program gives students hands-on experience with industry partners
By Marc Doucette and Cynthia Rubino
Fall 2020 marks the launch of the re-imagined Advertising and Marketing Communications Management Program.
The new curriculum includes not just advanced advertising courses, but also an exclusive internship placement component. Successful third year graduates of this program will achieve an Advanced Diploma.
This pathway has been carefully designed to offer students residing in Ontario and/or their home country the opportunity to work with a real client and develop a full 360 communications plan.
Working in group settings, students incorporate their knowledge of creative, media, production and account services from the first two years of the program to develop thoughtful and strategic solutions that are go-to-market ready.
Winter 2021 brings on the excitement of two hands-on experiences as an estimated 50 students will choose from an in-class simulation or a work-integrated learning field placement within the advertising and marketing community.
The field placement is a mandatory 10-week experience that will give learners an opportunity to get a better understanding of how the industry works, while making career connections and building their networks in this fast-paced, ever-changing industry.
Despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are thrilled and honoured to be collaborating with some of the best-in-class industry partners who are providing remote, in-person or hybrid placements. This experiential education will be like no other as it offers students the knowledge to be adaptable, resilient, while still remaining safe.
