Sheridan’s 2018 Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition

This May, 22 Business Administration Marketing and Advertising and Communications Management students were selected to compete in the 2018 Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition (OCMC). The selection of the team is based on participating in two events that are designed to test students’ marketing, problem-solving, and presentation skills.

The Team: Jaspal Mann, Kaylee Nieto, Shireese McConkey, Mathew O’Connor, Elayne Mayer, Lara Stagljar, Nicholas Hesas, Jeremy Reay, Kat Buzelatto, Tom Mathieu, Matthew Proborszcz, Maia De Graff, Isabela Mendes, Harrison Turner, Salome Valderrama, Matthew Good, Mariana Holanda, Miki Traczyk, Negin Davood, Victoria Juras, Olga Palicjcuka, and Denzil Wray-Levy will be representing the Sheridan Pilon School of Business in 11 scheduled events at the 38th annual OCMC hosted by Fanshawe College in London, Ontario.

The team will be coached by Professor John Cooper, Professor Michelle Guile, Professor Stacey Sheehy, Professor Carol Bureau, Crystal Bennett, Professor Kathy Hopkinson, Professor Allan Linklater, Professor Keith Barnwell, Professor Lorraine Cipparrone, Marianne Sy-Lucero and led by Competition Coordinator, Professor Karen Booth.

For over 30 years, OCMC has brought together hundreds of highly motivated students and faculty from over 13 Ontario colleges. This prestigious competition provides participants with the opportunity to demonstrate their marketing, advertising, and problem-solving skills before industry professionals in 10 case-style events. One of the main highlights of the event is The Quiz-Bowl, which is a live team event where four students from different colleges must cooperate to showcase their marketing knowledge against each other in an exciting game show event.
