Students Hit the Gym with the Get Into Fitness Workshop

With the intent of promoting a healthy lifestyle among students, the Women Empowerment Association at Davis organized the Get Into Fitness workshop on campus. However, this wasn’t your typical workshop. It was actually a light boot camp led by Mostafa Babouli, Facilities Manager at Davis.

The idea emerged from the group’s success in organizing self-defense workshops for women. During those events, participants learned different techniques and were encouraged to lead an active lifestyle.

“We decided to do the fitness workshop as we wanted to promote a healthy lifestyle among students and target everyone, not just girls,” explained Hadia Tariq from the Women Empowerment Association.

The workout session lasted for 45 minutes and included a mix of cardio and strength building exercises. Although the workshop was a stand-alone event, the goal was to help participants kick-start a fitness routine, and encourage them to pursue healthier habits.
