Availability is a critical basic in this role:  Students must be available to travel to various campuses on Thursday afternoons for Senate meetings that begin at 4:00 p.m. and end at 6:00 p.m.

Attendance and sustaining the relationship with Senate through to at least the spring are the barriers we have experienced in having good participation from our student Senators.  (Senate runs through to June, however it is understood that some students leave the area in April if they are not in classes over the summer)

Co-Curricular Record – student are eligible to use their role on Senate on their Co-Curricular Record.

Payment – students are paid an hourly rate of $12.03/hr for three hours each month that they attend Senate meetings. (2 hours for the meeting and 1 hour for reading/preparation)
