Enactus Regional Competition 2016
“Seeing it all come together on stage and knowing all their hard-work paid off was the best part of being their coach” – Marianne Sy-Lucero
On March 11th, Sheridan students: Joanna Wang and Ruth Olarewaju competed in the Capital One Financial Challenge and Nehal Philips and Daniel Anupol competed in the TD Entrepreneurship Challenge (challenges segmented within Enactus Canada Regional Expositions).
This year’s event was held at Mississauga’s Hilton Hotel, where hundreds of students, academic and industry leaders gathered together to recognize the achievements of Canada’s future entrepreneurs.
According to the Enactus website: Enactus Canada competitions showcase the impact of the Enactus movement while inspiring excellence among post-secondary students across the country. Enactus Canada describes themselves as “a community of students, academic and business leaders who are using entrepreneurial action to create a better, more sustainable world”.
Our Sheridan participants were strong candidates in this year’s competition. Marianne Sy-Lucero, Chief Competition Officer and Sheridan student, remarked “This was my first year as the Chief Competition Officer and it has been a truly rewarding experience. We (the team) spent hours rehearsing our presentation and drilled them with a ton of questions to help prepare them for the competition. Seeing it all come together on stage and knowing all their hard-work paid off was the best part of being their coach. I couldn’t be more proud of them.”
Congratulations to all those who participated in this year’s competition.
