The Pilon School of Business Hosts its Annual Guided Dinner

The Guided Dinner is an annual event that was created to prepare students for the business world and to equip them with the necessary skills needed to confidently interact with business professionals in any social situation. On April 7th, 2015 more than 60 students, faculty, and staff gathered together at the Mississauga Grand Banquet Hall to learn about the importance of proper dining etiquette.

The evening was led by Lori Elliot, Associate Dean at the Pilon School of Business, who provided guests with a breadth of information on various topics such as networking, table settings, table manners, and cross cultural etiquette. Through an interactive presentation, students were given the opportunity to use the etiquette tips provided throughout dinner.

“I think that it’s important for students and young business professionals to learn about proper dining and business etiquette, especially in today’s business world,” said Marianne Sy-Lucero, the Student Engagement Coordinator who organized the event. “These are skills we can use in our day-to-day lives and definitely comes in handy when we attend job interviews, business dinners, or travel to a new country.”
