Sheridan’s Pilon School of Business students take fourth place in the highly exciting, adrenaline-fueled Quiz Bowl Event at Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition 2014. Melynnda O’Donnell, Tonia Ranieri, Igor Khlebnikov and Nicholas Mazur answered quick-fire questions in the intensely popular event that marks the beginning of every OCMC. Sixty-two students from 13 Ontario colleges are mixed together in teams of four to answer lightning quick marketing questions pulled from textbooks, magazines and teaching material for marketing students.
This year’s Pilon School of Business Quiz Bowl entrants were again ably coached by Professor Lorraine Cipparrone and former OCMC Quiz Bowl and Vanier BDC Case winner Shannon Crisp. The Twitter-verse was literally crackling with electricity as Sheridan coaches and students alike tweeted the raucous events in real-time at #bestinblue.
In the second day of OCMC events 18 Sheridan students will compete in ten separate closed door case-solving competitions including The Sales Presentation, Integrated Marketing Communications, International Marketing Cases, and a new OCMC event titled The Prospect Pitching Case. Stay close to your Twitter feed #bestinblue as the day progresses and results are finally unveiled at the OCMC 2014 gala dinner and awards ceremony at the Blue Mountain Resort Conference Centre in Collingwood Ontario.
