Sheridan’s Supply Chain Management Case Competition Team

Two teams from Sheridan’s BBA Global Business Management program and one team from the Business Process Management program recently competed in the third annual Supply Chain Management Association Case Competition in Kitchener.

According to SCMA website: The purpose of the competition is to provide a unique learning opportunity for undergraduate students while raising awareness of the areas of supply chain management as both a field of study and as a potential career path. Students will focus on resolving real world strategic and tactical challenges through the examination of topics such as logistics, network design, procurement, relationship management, and sustainability.

Both the Global Business Management teams qualified for the final round and were the top Ontario teams. GBM Team 2 placed 4th overall and GBM Team 1 placed 5th overall. The top 3 teams in the competition came from Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal.

“Based on the feedback from the judges, all teams performed exceptionally well, and our Sheridan students gained valuable experience. This is the third year Sheridan students have participated in this event,” said Chuck Minken, Program Coordinator, Bachelor of Business Administration, Global Business Management.

Sheridan teams included: Global Business Management team 1, Ryan Devries, Erica Forest, Antoine Sarhan, Veina Wang; Global Business management team 2, Kateryna Yavorska-Vietrova, Gurjot Singh, Munif Fadhl, Vishakha Shah; Business Process Management team, Ashruth Venkareddy, Karanveer S Mahal, Shwetha Mohan, and Harit Kapani.

Students from the following institutions took place: Ontario, Sheridan: 3 teams, Conestoga College: 2 teams, Seneca College: 2 teams, Trios College: 2 teams, St Lawrence College: 1 team; Montreal/Quebec HEC; Western Canada,University of BC-Sauder School of Business, University of Lethbridge, Mount Royal University, University of Calgary.
