Faculty of Business Accounting students take Bronze in CGA Case Competition 2014
Sheridan Faculty of Business students Shan Thillainathan,Tracy Tran and Nizam Hasbi took third place overall at the fourth annual CGA Case Competition held recently at George Brown College in Toronto. Sheridan entered two teams in the event which also included Sejal Patel, Brian Farquharson, Chris Lopes and Hassan Wahid. All are in the third year of the three year Business Administration Accounting program except for Wahid, Patel and Tran who are in the second year of the program. Both teams have trained extensively with Faculty of Business coaches to prepare for the CGA event.
“I am so proud of both teams, they all worked hard and put countless hours into their training. All their hard work paid off as this is the first time we ever placed in the competition,”said Lorraine Cipparrone, Professor and Student Advisor.
The 2014 CGA Ontario College Case Competition Saturday, March 22, 2014, welcomed 20 teams from 13 Ontario colleges. Students had the opportunity to showcase their financial skills in a series of accounting and financial challenges, including case study presentations and a workshop. Winners of the competition will receive commemorative medals and scholarships.
