Sheridan Faculty of Business Accounting students compete in annual CGA Case Competition
Sheridan Faculty of Business Accounting students recently competed at The 3rd annual CGA Case Competition event which was held at George Brown College’s St. James campus in downtown Toronto on Saturday March 23rd, 2013.
The event brought 23 teams, from 16 Ontario Colleges, together for a day of competition and learning. Students competed in events throughout the day with the grand event being the very challenging two hour case analysis and presentation competition. While Sheridan did not finish in first place in the Case competition, they represented Sheridan well, with the Trafalgar team taking first place in the Quiz Bowl event. The Trafalgar team, Stefana Szakacs Jack Leung Sarah Morales, was coached by Sally Mitzel, the HMC Team was coached by Professor Lorraine Cipparrone.
“The competition is a tremendous opportunity to test college students’ analytical and soft skills in a competitive and real-world environment. Students had the opportunity to participate in skill building workshops and to network with professionals, association members, and other students from all over Ontario,” said Sally Mitzel, Business Administration – Accounting program Coordinator .
The 2013 CGA Case Competition was won by defending champions, George Brown College.
