Sheridan Faculty of Business welcomes new faculty to the programs for 2012

Dr. William Holmes, Associate Deans, Cindy Gillette, Jeremy Staples and Jon Jones and the members of the Sheridan Faculty of Business recently welcomed several new faculty members to the business programs located at Hazel McCallion, Davis and Trafalgar campuses for 2012.

Carol Bureau

Professor Carol Bureau

Professor Bureau is a Marketing program faculty member who joined us in January and will be teaching mainly at The Hazel McCallion Campus in Mississauga.  Bureau is a senior Marketing and Sales executive with a broad based professional experience.  Professor Bureau has an Honours BBA from Wilfred Laurier and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Ginger Grant

Professor Ginger Grant

Also hired in January, Professor Grant is currently working across Marketing and degree programs.  Ms. Grant joins us from Simon Fraser University, where her focus was on Creativity and Business Intelligence.  She completed her BA from the University of Waterloo, her MA and PHD both in Mythology and Depth Psychology, from Pacifica Graduate Institute in California.

Michelle Guile

Professor Michelle Guile

Professor Guile joined the Faculty of Business this past summer and is a welcome addition to the Marketing faculty. Ms. Guille will be an Academic Advisor for the Marketing program at Davis campus.  Michelle graduated from the University of Toronto with a BA, and received an MBA in Marketing from Dalhousie University. Michelle has worked in a wide variety of marketing roles in the technology industry where much of her work focused on helping entrepreneurial firms bring new products to market.

Anne-Liisa Longmore

Professor Anne-Liisa Longmore

Professor Longmore is a full time faculty member in the Marketing program and will be advising the Marketing program students at HMC. Anne-Liisa has more than 20 years of progressive marketing management experience in organizations such as Kraft Foods, The Calgary Zoo, The Toronto Hospital, Science North and The Lung Association. Ms. Longmore has a Honours B.Comm from Laurentian University with a specialization in Marketing, a Masters in Continuing Education with a specialization in Adult and Workplace Learning, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education, specializing in Workplace and Adult Learning. Anne-Liisa is in the final stages of her dissertation thesis which explores Individual and Workplace Creativity and Innovation.

Roger Halfacre

Professor Roger Halfacre

Professor Halfacre brings an array of skills and work place experiences as a retail and corporate travel counsellor, inbound and outbound tour operation, religious pilgrimages and conference & event planning. Mr. Halfacre’s most recent position was as National Sales Manager specializing in the niche cruise market and in group development. A highlight of Professor Halfacre’s career was serving as Director of Transportation for World Youth Day 2002 (Papal visit to Toronto) for which he won the Canadian Special Events’ Industry STAR Award for “Outstanding Logistical Achievement”.  Roger holds an Honours Diploma in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Administration from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and a Master of Theological Studies degree from the University of St. Michael’s College.

Ernest Kerst

Professor Ernest Kerst

Professor Ernest Kerst joins the Sheridan Finance program mainly at the Hazel McCallion program in Mississauga. Mr. Kerst holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Toronto, a Masters of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business, and the Certified General Accountant designation.

Professor Kerst has held a variety of management positions including the General Manager and CFO of the Malivoire Wine Company.  Ernie’s previous teaching experience includes wine management, regulation and marketing at Niagara College.

Linda Batch

Professor Linda Batch

Professor Linda Batch joins the Sheridan Faculty of Business to teach in the Accounting program at the Davis Campus in Brampton.  Ms. Batch is a Certified Management Accountant and Professional Engineer. She holds a Master of Business Administration Degree Majoring in Accounting and Business Policy – York University Master of Engineering Degree – Mechanical Engineering – McMaster University.

In addition, Professor Batch has more than 25 years experience in industry, primarily manufacturing both in technical and business roles.

Gargi Mukherji

Professor Gargi Mukherji

Professor Gargi Mukherji teaches in the Faculty of Business – Paralegal program.  Gargi holds an LL.B. degree from the University of Manitoba, and a B.Ed. and M.Ed. from the University of Windsor.

Professor Mukherji has more than 10 years of experience as a Crown Prosecutor in Winnipeg, and in Windsor where most recently, she was in-house Counsel for the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society.  Professor Mukherji has taught at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law, and at Sheridan College.  Her specific areas of practice and education are in criminal law, child protection law, advocacy and evidence.  She is fluent in three languages.
