Sheridan Tourism and Travel students host year-end Wonders of The World celebration
Sheridan Faculty of Business Tourism and Travel students recently hosted Wonders of The World to thank industry placement supervisors and Program Advisory Committee members for their support throughout the year. More than 125 travel industry people and Sheridan students gathered to mix, mingle and enjoy the Wonders of The World themed decor and the delicious buffet hosted at the Trafalgar campus.
“This example of experiential learning is just one component of the Sheridan Tourism and Travel program. Graduates of our program use real life, hands-on business training and leading edge curriculum at Sheridan College to go into all areas of the Tourism and Travel Industry,” said Victoria Renton, Coordinator, Sheridan Tourism and Travel program.
The Wonders of The World event was fully planned and implemented by members of the 4th semester Introduction to Meetings and Events class. The event assignment was focused on experiential learning for the students who were divided into teams based on their interests: Décor, Food and Beverage, Media and Program. A leader was nominated for each team and then overseen by the Assistant Coach. These leaders comprised the Management Team for the event.[slideshow]
