Professor Henry Katz retires from Sheridan College Faculty of Business
Henry Katz, a professor in the Sheridan Faculty of Business, curriculum designer and Coordinator of the Financial Planning, Graduate Certificate program has decided to retire after 26 plus years of academic excellence.
Professor Katz was long-time Coordinator of the highly successful and industry-certified Financial Planning Program at Sheridan College where he expertly designed the program curriculum to reflect industry standards and assist his graduates to complete their Certified Financial Planner designation.
Henry Katz was nominated for TVO’s Best Lecturer 2010 Competition and for the 2008 ACCC Award for Teaching Excellence. His professional designations include Associate Chartered Secretary and Administrator (ACIS); Certified Management Accountant CMA (Austin); Certified Financial Planner (CFP); and Registered Financial Planner (RFP).
“I have mixed feelings in retirement. On one hand, I miss lecturing and student classroom interaction. On the other hand, retirement provides me with more time to exercise, travel and devote time in my financial and investment planning practice,” said Katz.
Professor Katz was recently profiled in Sheridan’s Ovation magazine in his authored article about recession-proof investment strategies.
Professor Katz will attend Sheridan Convocation 2012 and be celebrated with other Sheridan Faculty of Business retirees at the annual Dean’s Reception in Spring 2012 – details to follow.
