Sheridan School of Business OCMC 2010 volunteers train to assist at the big event in Mississauga
More than 150 student volunteers from the Sheridan School of Business Advertising program, the Business Administration – Accounting program, and the Sheridan Marketing program, spent several hours getting familiarized with their roles at the 2010 Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition volunteer training session held recently.
Sheridan OCMC student volunteers will be expected to perform roles in the security, hospitality, help-desk functions, and also act as auditors and greeters and guides for the more than 500 expected participants. Sheridan volunteers will be easily recognizable at the OCMC event by their award-themed black “Tuxedo” t-shirts.
“I am impressed by the overwhelming support and enthusiasm from all of our student volunteers,” said Marcie Theoret, Sheridan’s OCMC Planning Committee.
Thirteen Ontario colleges are expected to attend OCMC, a two-day competitive event that challenges the marketing skills of undergraduate business students in eight case events for paired teams and two individual student events. The only event viewed by all competitors is the exciting Quiz Bowl which pits mixed college teams in a fast-paced elimination match.
This year’s OCMC event is held on November 18 and 19, 2010 in Mississauga at the Delta Meadowvale Resort and Conference Centre and is hosted by Sheridan College and the Sheridan School of Business and made possible through the generosity of our corporate sponsors.
