Virox Future Forum 2010 presents top speakers to Sheridan School of Business student leaders
Sheridan School of Business student leaders enthusiastically spent most of the day with top business speakers learning how to finesse their future of employment after graduation during the recent Virox Future Forum 2010 sponsored by Virox Technologies Inc. Business speakers included Lee-Anne McAlear, Ian Portsmouth, and Sean Wise.
Sheridan School of Business students also had an opportunity to get up close and personal with Randy Pilon, President and CEO, Virox Technologies Inc., Jeff Zabudsky, President and CEO, Sheridan College, Carolyn Ferreira, Dean, Sheridan School of Business, and Scott Stratten, entrepreneur, and professor, Sheridan School of Business.
In addition, during the networking breaks an information booth for students was presented by Sheridan’s Alumni Association, and Virox Technologies Inc. recruiters were on hand to review resumes from Sheridan students.
“It’s great to see the business stars of tomorrow learning from the business stars of today,” said Scott Stratten, professor, Sheridan College and master of ceremonies of the The Virox Future Forum 2010.
Scott Stratten, a Sheridan School of Business professor, combines his teaching in the Human Resources program with a flair for marketing through viral YouTube videos, Facebook pages, and tweets on Twitter, also acted as Master of Ceremonies for the forum. An entrepreneur, Stratten has made personal appearances across Canada and the U.S. promoting his expertise on engaging the marketplace with social networking tools. His new book UnMarketing is published by Wiley & Sons and is due for release Summer 2010.
Trevor Bodogh, an extreme athlete in the gruelling Bike Trials sport, and a 2009 Sheridan College Business Administration – Finance program graduate, made a thrilling and entertaining entrance on his Trials bike culminating in an enormous stationary jump. Bodogh received a large ovation from the audience as he detailed his own experience as a 2009 Virox Future Forum student leader, and then successfully auditioning for a coveted place on the hit CBC TV series Dragons Den. Bodogh will be appearing at The Toronto Bike Show March 5,6,7, 2010.
Lee-Anne McAlear is Program Director of Schulich’s Centre of Excellence in Innovation Management at York University and president of the Toronto based innovation house, CURRENT. McAlear is a highly regarded consultant, facilitator, speaker and training specialist. For over 20 years, Lee-Anne has worked globally with Fortune 500 and high growth entrepreneurial firms to help formulate strategy and enhance individual, team and organizational performance.
Ian Portsmouth is the editor of PROFIT: Your Guide to Business Success. PROFIT magazine has served Canada’s entrepreneurial community for over 20 years. Portsmouth has won several awards or his business writing, and is a frequent media commentator on the management issues and best practices of Canadian growth companies.
