School of Business – Davis Campus The Expose provides connection to future of work for students

The Davis Business Council Expose Group

Sheridan School of Business students recently got connected with business at the first Annual Business Expose hosted by the Davis Business Council and the Davis Business Club.  The Expose featured product presentations from Rim/Blackberry on the future of wireless,  Sony presented a gaming competition and its range of products from e-book to computers, Clothier, Suzy Sheir delivered a mini-fashion Show on “Dressing for Success” in your Career, and the Small Business Enterprise Center spoke about their Summer Company Program.

Trevor Bodogh, 2009 Sheridan Finance graduate and top-rated extreme athlete, shared his Elevator Pitch from the CBC-TV hit series Dragon’s Den and did Cycling Tricks – jumping over Jordan Leblanc, Sheridan marketing student, and Emcee of the event.

The Business Expose featured company booths and presentations in the Rec Room pub, a Speaker Hall on “The Future of Business” and a Muay Thai (Martial Arts) Demonstration in the Athletic Center.  Students could feel the passion and creativity that business has to offer especially during the many door prizes that were given away,  including more than $250 in gift certificates donated by local sponsors.

“It is our pride to lead Sheridan’s business students by always keeping them aware of the future of business,” said Armando Toossi and Micheaux Spencer of the Business Council. You can catch the Business Council at: www.sbcouncil.2ya.com/

“The buzz and excitement from Business Expose has inspired students to be passionate about the business world and its possibilities,” said John MacRae, faculty advisor for the Davis Business Council.

This year’s success has encouraged the Business Council to plan a bigger and better Expose next year and for years to come. Professor MacRae thanked all the Business Council and Business Club members, businesses and sponsors (see web site for list of companies involved) for their contribution to making the student experience at Sheridan a more rewarding one.
