Lorraine Cipparrone nominated for TVO Best Lecturer Award
Lorraine Cipparrone, a professor in the Sheridan School of Business, who teaches in the Accounting in Canada for Internationally Trained Accountants program, has received a nomination for TVO’s 2010 Best Lecturer Competition.
TVO’s Best Lecturer Competition, now in its fifth year, plays an important role in showcasing the province’s great educators. A nomination is a testament to the impact professors have on their students, and their passion for teaching. A panel of independent judges will be looking for lecturers who engage their listeners with passion, flair, and clarity, conveying their academic knowledge with genuine conviction. To check out last year’s award winning lecture, please go to TVO’s Best Lecturer Competition.
The 10 selected finalists will compete in a 6-week pursuit of the Best Lecturer title, as each professor’s professionally produced lecture and accompanying profile piece airs on TVO’s Big Ideas in March 2010.
The winner will be crowned this year’s Best Lecturer and the winner’s school will receive a $10,000 scholarship.
