Students and parents pay close attention to the Academic Awards Ceremony.

More than one hundred academic awards of excellence were conferred on Sheridan School of Business students during the recent annual Sheridan School of Business Academic Awards Ceremony held in Macdonald-Heaslip Hall.

This year the Sheridan School of Business academic awards program donations reached an all time high of $51,310, an increase of approximately 20%, for a total of 104 awards.

School of Business program areas included the Business Administration programs, Accounting, Banking and Wealth Management, E-commerce, Finance, Human Resources, and Marketing. School of Business programs also included Advertising, Court and Tribunal Agent (Paralegal), Office Administration, and Tourism and Travel.

Graduate Certificate programs included Marketing Management, International Business, Financial Planning, and Advertising Management.

This year’s ceremony marked the last time outgoing Sheridan President, Dr. Robert Turner will attend the Sheridan Business Academic Awards. Dr. Turner was honored with a lusty standing ovation as his college achievements were recognized by School of Business Dean, Gerard Mercer. Sheridan Vice-president Academic Mary Preece also praised the School of Business and its achievements in her first School of Business Awards ceremony.

This year’s Academic Awards ceremony also marked the induction into the Sheridan School of Business Hall of Fame, of alumni John Keilty, Business Administration 1970, a successful eastern Ontario business person and highly creative entrepreneur and current owner and president of the Gananoque Inn & Spa. Keilty had great praise for the Sheridan School of Business and recommended Sheridan’s business programs to all students present.
