The Best of Twenty Years of award winning Canadian Newspaper advertisements. was recently hosted at the Sheridan School of Business. The week long display of Canadian Newspaper Extra Awards was facilitated by Sheridan School of Business professor, Gord Tompkins, who was also a panel judge on the selection of this year’s awards. Tompkins arranged for the display to be housed at Sheridan College as a way of bringing attention to the exciting career possibilities in Sheridan’s graduate certificate programs in Marketing and Advertising.

The award winning advertisements featured in the display were best newspaper ads from the past twenty years as judged by a panel commissioned by the Canadian Newspaper Association.

The Extra Awards is the annual competition to select the top advertisements in Canadian newspapers. The CNA Extra Awards displayed March 23 to 27 featured the best newspaper advertisements from various fields including: public services, automobiles, and consumer products.

The display was located conveniently between the newly furbished Trafalgar Campus Learning Commons and the new Tim Hortons outlet located in the C wing just adjacent to the Sheridan Library. Many students took an opportunity to browse the exciting display of the 20 year selection of Extra winning newspaper advertisements.
