David Nowell presents the William & Margaret Lydiatt Award at OCMC 2008 in Niagara Falls.

David Nowell, Sheridan School of Business Professor, awarded the William & Margaret Lydiatt Award to Sarah Ormon from Algonquin College during the recent Ontario Colleges’ Marketing Competition in Niagara Falls.

The William & Margaret Lydiatt Award is awarded annually to a student who inspires others, puts the spirit of the OCMC competition first by supporting others on their team, and demonstrates commitment and integrity.

“While the main focus at the Ontario Colleges’s Marketing Competition is traditionally on the students who win the various marketing events, they are far from the only winners. Most OCMC competitors will recall a team-mate whose dedication, encouragement and support means so much to their whole team – these are the William & Margaret Lydiatt Award recipients, ” said Nowell.

The William & Margaret Lydiatt Award was created in 2006 by David Nowell a professor at Sheridan College by way of an inheritance from his relative Margaret Lydiatt, in honour of William Lydiatt, founder of Marketing magazine. Nowell commissioned the design of the trophy to a winning submission by Sheridan College, Crafts and Design student Nari Poluvan.
